First look at 'The Michael J. Fox Show'

TV

Beloved actor Michael J. Fox is returning to TV this fall, and on Monday, NBC unveiled the first trailer for "The Michael J. Fox Show" at its upfronts presentation.

Given the show's eponymous title, it's no surprise that art imitates life in the sitcom. Fox, 51, plays Mike Henry, a news anchor who put his career on hold after being diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, and then returns to work five years later after getting the itch to get back into the action. (The actor himself was diagnosed with the same disease in 1991, though he didn't reveal the news to fans until 1998.)

Take a look:

Fox has had stints on shows such as "The Good Wife" and "Rescue Me," but "The Michael J. Fox Show" is the actor's first regular series role since he appeared on "Spin City," which ran from 1996 to 2002.

Fox is joined by some other familiar faces in his new project: The sitcom also stars "Breaking Bad's" Betsy Brandt as Fox's wife Annie, and "Treme's" Wendell Pierce as his boss, Harris Green. NBC has ordered a full season of the show, which premieres this fall.
